A and B together: calibrate
Positions run clockwise from 1 to 4. Turn counterclockwise to go back toward 1.
Power
- Turn the switch clockwise from 1 to 2, 3 or 4 to power on.
- Wait about 10 seconds. The buttons do not respond until then.
- Turn the switch counterclockwise to 1 to power off.
- Settings reset to defaults at every power-up: White Hot, brightness 50, contrast 50, 1× zoom.
Buttons
- The buttons latch. Press once to latch it, press again to release it. Each press or release is one click.
- Position 4: a latched button keeps adjusting until you release it.
- Both together: position 4 calibrates. In positions 2 and 3, repeated presses start advanced functions, including a permanent dead-pixel correction (see the manual), so avoid them. Release both before the next input.
Calibrate
- Automatic: shortly after power-on, then about every 5 minutes. The image freezes briefly. This is normal.
- Manual: switch to 4, press A and B together, then release both. Use it when the image looks uneven or ghosted.
Battery
- One unprotected 18350 lithium-ion cell. It has no built-in protection, so never short its terminals.
- Charge it outside the unit in a single-cell lithium-ion charger (4.2 V). Never charge it inside the unit.
- Do not use a dented, swollen, leaking, hot or torn-wrap cell.
Warning
Never aim the lens at the sun or other intense heat. It can damage the sensor.
If something is wrong
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| No image | Check the cell is charged and installed the right way round. The switch must be in 2, 3 or 4. Wait about 10 seconds. |
| A button seems dead | Release both buttons. If it was just after power-up, wait about 10 seconds. |
| Brightness will not change | The button was latched before you turned to 4. Release it, then latch it again. |
| Image uneven or ghosted | Run a manual calibration: position 4, press A and B together. |
| Image freezes for a moment | This is calibration. It is normal. |
Clean the lens only with a soft, lint-free cloth.
